Marine Collagen vs. Animal Collagen

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

Collagen can be extracted from a variety of sources, from both terrestrial (land) and marine (water) animals. Though they are structurally similar, the main difference is the length of its chain.

Animal collagen, which can be extracted from chickens and cows, have very large molecular structure. Such lengths make it difficult for the body’s digestive system to break down and even harder to absorb.

Marine collagen on the other hand, offers a much small structure that the body can easily be digested and absorbed into the body. The comparative effectiveness between the two is as we would expect, with lower dosages being required of Marine Collagen for and still achieving better results.

Literally, you are what you eat! When you consume collagen, it induces the body to create even more collagen!
